Today is the last day of official work, the last day of Service Learning, the last day of labor before tomorrow, where we will have finally finished everything we need to do. This also means however that we are nearing our departure of Xizhou to a place called Shanghai, a place where the skies are not blue, a place where there are no such things as a small village or a community, but instead one big mashup of buildings and communities.

Yesterday Mr. T talked about the return to Shanghai, which reminded me, we only have four days left here, and the last day, Friday, will just mostly be flying back to Shanghai, so really we only have three days left at Yangzhuoran. This is a short amount of time for us Microcampus students but for China alive people, that would be the first day where people would actually start to do activities full time, as the first day would just be traveling and settling in.

Today was the day where we do most of our service learning work, and it was much more intense than I thought, as I was the only person in my group that could translate decently. The translating took forever, with 2 hours on hand, I got only around 4 minutes of translate out of the 5 minutes done, which is good, but apparently I also have to change the type of text box I use because it was different as one of my teammates said, so I left that up to them as I was already getting a headache having not only translating but also changing font and text boxes.

I officially finished my inquiry project with super fast scenes and hyper intense music, with fast picture switches and loud sounds all across the board, which I was super confident in. When the "Pearls of wisdom came in I realized that I needed to stop speeding my video so fast with 0.5-second images and music as loud as my script, so I had to make some changes to accommodate my audience so that they do not get confused. Today was the most intense inquiry day I have ever had. I straight up recorded all of my scripts, either with 2 tries or 20 tries and probably not the best audio there is. I had to go to my closet as it was too loud outside with all of the 15 other students doing their own thing. I also started putting all of my photos and videos into iMovie, got half of the editing finished, and it should take a short amount of time to finish it up. Later, I went out with my service learning group to get some B roll and it went pretty well.

Today was the last day of Microcampus essentials, which means that another major project is going to take over the stress that the SAS essentials originally left us, yes! That my friends would be the combined forces of the due dates of Service Learning and Inquiry project, which is about as nice as it can get. Today I also went and became the meeting facilitator for the first time, which was stressful at first, but I had the best feeling of relief after it was done.

Yesterday I thought I was not going to be going to Dali old town but I was pleasantly surprised. All the students went to Dali old town and ate there that night. I and Austin went together as a pair and ate at Sandra's... Something. This was apparently the same restaurant that Mr. T had to take all of the misbehaving kids to eat at, which was a low number of 6. I ate a bolognese Meatball pasta and Austin ate a cheese pizza. I also ordered an awfully disgusting drink, an Oreo milkshake, which was okay but too sugary for the salty foods I was eating.

So today during the daily meeting, Mr.T pointed out that however much comfort food I eat, however much space I have to put my souvenirs and bought items. I would think I better start eating my comfort food quick because if you have not seen the amount of tea I bought, it is a decent amount. There is a Dian Hong barrel of tea, a cake of tea, a brick of tea, a bag of green tea and a...ball of tea? Yeah, I think I am not going to be bringing the green tea back as it takes the most space.

I went to eat breakfast and was surprised by the new selection of foods, which included fried eggs and mushroom buns. I ate the mushroom bun and realized that I do not really like mushrooms... not at all. Today is also the day Phase 3 is due and although I got all the information I need about tools, health benefits, color, age, price, packaging, everything, but I have no idea what my final product will be.

Today was good but also bad for me, as I have gone from a tea lover to a tea dealer. It all started with my water bottle with tea in it, which Sonia got interested in after smelling it. I had to control her but I realized that I could get her away from my water bottle by showing her the tea that I bought. It was the worst idea of the day. She started to smell like as if she was a vacuum and would not give it to me, I had to pry it from her hands to get it back.

Today I went out to lunch with the mindset that I will be eating 麻辣烫, however, you would be greatly surprised at what I ate instead. When I arrived at the restaurant, there was no 麻辣烫 at the time so I ordered a Gong Bao Chicken (宫保鸡丁) and some rice. The end result came out to be 50% chicken and 50% nuts. It should have been named Peanut Chicken because after I ate all of the chicken, I stuffed myself with peanuts and rice, not the best combination in the world. Afterward, I went to visit Mr.Li, who told me to visit him later at 4-5 o'clock, so we went to Mr.Yang instead.

We woke up from our sleeping bags today and got up to say good morning to everybody, however, because of my excellent snoring skills, I do not think anyone really got as much sleep, especially not my tent mate. I took a picture with the very normal ostrich beside our bathroom and said goodbye to it and then proceeded to board the bus, which gave us more and better rest than the tent gave us, which is saying a lot. For service learning, we could not talk to Mr. Li, but instead we got to meet a farmer named Mr.

Today we did the most challenging part of the Micro campus trip, hike for six hours straight with a backpack dragging our stamina and morale down at the same time. Before I went on the trip I grabbed comfort food, which will be important later on. We started by hiking up by a mountain, which led us to a forest path. The forest path lasted for about 2 hours and while we were on it, we dragged our morale up by naming every word that starts with an A, then a B, a C, and so on. We stopped at C as we were getting tired and also the fact that Mr. T had to control our volume.

I finally figured out a hobby that would be really fun, tea making. After seeing so many people brew tea and after learning so much about tea, I feel like it would be really fun and cool to get a tea set and cook tea in front of my friends and make cool comments like let me show you the true way of tea. Okay, that might be a bit weird, but it is cool none the less. It could also work as a cool present from my parents. Anyways, today, I bought some more tea, but much higher quality. I bought a cake of Pu'er Shou tea, and apparently because I was a student, I got 50RMB off.

Today's photo printing went good, or disastrous I would say. When we wanted to write on the picture's back, my teammates forgot how to write their Chinese name, which made things complicated. I had to change Anders into 安的耳丝, which was terrible already, and when we did start writing it, the ink was smudged and we had to do it on another one. The other one we finished, but when we laminated it, it was erased due to the heat of the machine, so we had to write it with sharpie back in Yangzhuoran.

Today started off with a very functional ringing clock that for some reason did not ring, although I think that reason is that someone did not turn on the alarm, oh well. The SAS essentials session was very intense, with no T and graphing calculator in hand, we had to resort to other solutions. Red did not have their lesson 10 up, so they did our work instead. When Ms. Mcdaniel finally released the homework, the reds realized, they have done the wrong homework. They were effectively scammed by us golds.

Anders told me to write I love number 10 somewhere in my post, so that is why my title is I love number 10. I actually favor the number 7(Qi), but d not tell 10 I said that. The SAS essentials were pretty nice until I got to Spanish Yabla. The lady in the Yabla video spoke faster than I ran up the stairs today. I now must remind myself and others not to run up the stairs like we run to the baba shop every lunch out. Right, we should also not run to the baba shop like we run up the stairs too.

Today we once again visited Mr.Li, which asked us to wait a half hour as he was eating lunch, so my service group of me, Sonia, Josie, and Anders waited on the road. I thought we looked liked we were a group of kids who lost their parents and their tourist group. We talked about our very interesting childhoods and even how one time I pooped in the bathtub as a kid and showed it to my mom acting proud and like I struck gold. I was pretty sure that was not gold.

Today was our first official weekend here and we finally got to sleep in and rest longer, and although we could eat breakfast at any time from 7:30 to 9:30, somehow, almost everyone ate at the same time, I guess that is because people do not want to eat alone, which I could understand. Today was also our first day of service learning, which I first was scared of because of the fact that I was the leader of my service learning group and also the fact that I am the best Chinese speaker, so I was scared of having to team carry my group.

Today was very serious for the bicycle police. We hunted down every men and woman and placed them into the BCJ (Bicycle Committee Jail) for lock misplacement. Well, maybe not put them in jail, but we definitely punished them harshly... or gave them a gentle reminder. Anyways, all you have to know is that we took down every criminal on our bicycle hit list and made sure they will never repeat the same mistake.

Waking up, I did not know that I was not merely just going to the bathroom, but apparently, my nose had something to deposit too. Is it not nice to start off a day with a lush red nosebleed? Well, at least it did not hurt. The meeting went nice, although there were still many word viruses, like um... so... yeah... I think I forgot the word viruses, I will touch base on that later. The lunch was once again great, and my best buddy nosebleed suddenly surprised me while I was eating some ribs.

Today is the first day that we have to start talking with our contacts, and with that in mind, my stress is overflowing like the sink is overflowing with dishes. The first time I have dish duty is today, which is nice, I personally professionalize in the drying sector, I mean, my name is sunny, I dry things.

I woke up today, and I feel like the more I sleep, the more tired I am. It took a decent 10 minutes for me to get up from the bed. It makes me sad that fewer people are eating the amazing er si, although that means that I get the er si earlier, so that is a plus. The daily meeting went like uh like so basically we um, did some stuff like talk about like our jobs, and um also like so like um yeah, we talked about schedules and more specifically, um, word viruses. Word viruses include words such as: like, so, um and yeah.

Today was the final day where our teachers had to clarify how our schedule works and how meetings will work, meaning that tomorrow is the first day where we will be having a normal Microcampus day, which makes me excited but also worried in some ways. We had our first bike ride today and it was extremely fun. I felt like I was a part of a group and because we had to call out to get behind or in front of each other.

Today we took a tour around the village, and we saw some pretty interesting places, these places included: Ducklings cage, chicken slaughter barrel, rice cake factory, only listing a few. We went to the large gate in the village and separated to eat out lunches. My group and I had some pretty interesting conversations about the attitude of SAS and the people in SAS, I will not go too deep into it as it is a pretty private conversation.

Today is the first day of the long one-month microcampus trip to Xizhou. We arrived in Dali at around 4-5 and the view was beautiful. Red plains and mountains roamed the entire area with vast farmlands. There were many small squares where there would be many houses and apartments, however, they seemed empty, so I wonder if they are ghost towns or not. The sky was very clear compared to Shanghai, however, Mr.T said that the sky quality was a 2/10 and that the people of Yunnan should apologize for the traumatizing view.

My name is Sunny, and I was a part of the Voyagers group in microcampus.I'm a gamer, artist, and love building stuff! I chose to join the Microcampus program because I want to become more independent and learn the lesser known cultures of China. The trip was amazing and I hope to come to Xizhou again.
