I am about to embark on a learning journey. A journey that will take me to the land of Xizhou where the air is clean and the culture is everywhere. I needed to find a topic for Microcampus, so I looked through the list trying to select topics. With a whole month in Xizhou, I want to make sure that I find a topic that is endless with information.

In early March, I will be traveling to Xizhou on the Microcampus experience. I have already completed the first part of my inquiry project, which is Phase 0, which talks about the process of selecting a topic. My topic is food, or more specifically how food gets from the farm (or wherever it's produced) to the table where it is consumed. In this process, I will see the manpower that it takes to keep the supply chain going for a small village.

In this stage, I gather information from local contacts here in the village as well as information that I found online before arriving in the village. I have organized it into categories stating where it came from.

Background Information (From Phase 1)

During Phase 4 I will prepare an outline of what I will be doing in Phase 5. Before starting, I took a look at a few other people's final projects. I was very impressed with Miranda M.'s embroidery final project. It looked as though she had spent a lot of time and effort preparing to share her work with the Microcampus community and beyond.

About This Learner

I'm 14 years old and I was so happy to get a chance to participate in the Groundbreakers group of Microcampus (March 2014). I am a person of diverse experience, having lived in the United States, India, Singapore, and now China. The Microcampus experience expanded my learning and intercultural understanding, as well as gave me new methods of work and ways to live. I went to Xizhou to study restaurant management. Microcampus was amazing, I wish I could do it again.
