Microcampus is a 28 day trip to XiZhou. During this time we will each pick a topic of high personal interest to research. This topic becomes our inquiry project. There are many options to choose from as XiZhou has many different interesting aspects. Since I will be in XiZhou studying my topic for 28 days, it is important that I chose carefully and make sure it is the topic I am most interested in.

Welcome to my Phase 1. In this Phase I will be developing bigger questions and collecting background information on my topic of wood carving/door making. In Phase 0 I choose my topic and began asking questions. I will be specifying my topic from wood carving/door making to wood carving. Wood carving interests me more because it is neither confined to a specific size nor to being completely solid.

Welcome to my phase 3. This is where I will be storing information from the other phases. In Phase 1 I did some background research and developed a set of 10 big questions on my topic. The background information and the answers to my 10 big questions are both stored in this phase.

About This Learner

My name is Sasha and I am 13 years old. I am from Ann Arbor Michigan where I was born and lived until my family and I moved to Shanghai when I was 10. In my family I am the oldest of five children (2 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters). For the past 3 and a half years I have been working on learning Chinese and I am currently in Chinese Literature 1. Some of my passions include designing, acting and traveling. For our Inquiry projects we have each chose a topic of high person interest to study in XiZhou. I chose wood carving as my Inquiry Project and made a carving as my final product! Microcampus was an amazing experience that will always remember!
