Microcampus is a trip that 16 students make to Xizhou, a village in the Yunnan province of China. The group of students get to stay there for 28 days and investigate a topic that they chose before going on the trip. That topic is the subject of one’s inquiry project. An inquiry project is a project in which the students chose a topic and investigated that topic in Xizhou. There were so many topic choices to choose from. I had to eventually narrow them down by feedback from family and Mr.T.

Background Information (from Phase 1)

The Chinese had to adapt very often to new eating habits because of the scarcity of food. Dishes were created using small amounts of meat mixed with rice or noodles because meat was very scarce. Stir-frying is the most common method of cooking. It conserved fuel by cooking the food very quickly. [1]
