In November of 2016, I went on a 28-day trip to Xizhou China. While there I studied a project about something in the village that I was interested in. In this Phase I chose my top projects that I wanted to do and decided which one would work best for what I want to do.

To find out what project I wanted to do, I watched videos made by past Microcampus students.  Then after I had watched the videos, I chose my three possible topics. I then chose the ones I found most interesting, and went with those.

So far in my inquiry project I have completed Phase 0 and chosen the topic I want to pursue. The project that I chose is recreation/hobbies. I plan to research the games that are not played outside of Xizhou, or at least not in Shanghai. I also want to see what kinds of specific games different age groups play.

So far in Phase 1 of my inquiry project I have finished my pre-trip research and made my list of 10 questions. Now in Phase 2 I will find resources that will help me find answers to my existing questions and make new questions to answer.

About This Learner

I am 13. I went on a trip to Xizhou in November/December of 2016. This was my first time being outside of a major city in China. It also was the longest time I had been away from my family at that point. I had a great month out in Xizhou and I was sad when I had to leave. Microcampus was a once in a lifetime experience and I am glad that I went.
