Who was your Service Learning partner? (name, brief biographical details)
Service learning partner's name was Yang Xiu Lian. She claims to be seventy but she says her birth year is 1949, making her sixty-seven years old. Her parent died when she was very young and she has had one older brother who has passed away. Sadly she lives alone with no family members.
What did you learn about your elder as a result of this experience? (2-3 sentences)
I learned a lot about their viewpoints of China during the Cultural Revolution and Great Leap Forward. As each person had different feelings and perspectives during that time in China.
What did you learn about Xizhou's history as a result of this experience? (2-3 sentences)
I learned a lot about how Xizhou used to be. As our service learning partner used to be a farmer but new construction was built over the farm land.
What did you learn about 20th Century Chinese history as a result of this experience? (2-3 sentences)
I learned that this generation is extremely lucky and we should appreciate what we have now. And this time is much better than it was before and people now always get to eat, have clothes on their back and have a roof over their head.

What recommendations do you have for future Microcampus students who will be involved in a Service Learning project? (minimum 3 recommendations)
I recommend that whatever talents or special things people can do ask them to do it, ask questions that have a bit more substance and not just simple questions, the older someone is the more they have to tell and the more content their story has.
