For twenty-eight days, ten students including myself have ventured off into the unknown. We escpaed the bubble that we are trapped inside every day, and had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in Chinese culture. During Microcampus, each student needed to pick a topic of interest to study. When finding a topic, I had a checklist that I had to go through for each topic that interested me. My first check that I had to go through was whether or not the topic would keep me interested throughout my time in Xizhou.

During the last Phase of my project, Phase 0, I narrowed down a list of topics, and then chose the one that I would research. As a reminder, the topic that I have decided to research is migration stories. I plan to interview different local families to see how their migrant story effects their family, and how they are working with the situation they are currently going through. During Phase 1, I have began a large portion of my background research.

In Phase 0 I made a list of possible topics that I was interested, but then picked the one that I wanted to research (migration stories). In Phase 1, I took a deeper look into my project and decided on the questions that would be the basis for my research. In order to move on with my inquiry project I need to find trustworthy and helpful resources which can be found below, here in Phase 2.

About This Learner

My name is Luke and I am 13 years old. I was part of the Microcampus Marvel Musketeers group. I've grown up in the United States all my life, until I moved to Shanghai in fifth grade. Since then, I have found the Chinese culture extremely interesting, and have tried to immerse myself in it everyday. During my time in Xizhou for my Inquiry Project, I decided to study the migration of people coming into Xizhou to work. Active Microcampus students, if you need any help please feel free to contact me! Microcampus for me yielded countless life lessons and experiences. I will never forget it.
