Today I woke up with a stomachache, and I didn't feel well. Today is the last day in Xizhou, but instead I'm resting on my bed. Mr. T gave me some medicine and I just basically rested the whole time. I had congee for lunch, then when Ash, Clara, and Sujin came back, we started packing since we're leaving early tomorrow. I was in my room pretty much the whole day, and it was really bad. I texted my mom, and she recommended me to drink a sport drink called 舒跑. But sadly, they did not have it here. Xiao Tang recommended me to drink sweet and salty water.

Our room woke up at 2:00AM today just to see shooting stars. I was soo tired and I couldn't pull myself from my bed. The only reason I got up is because of the thought of seeing shooting stars for the first time. Last night Mr. T said that the smart ones will bring sleeping bags, but my sleeping bag was too hard to put back in the bag so I brought the large heavy blanket while my other roommates brought their sleeping bags. Only about half of us went. There was the four of us, Mark, Armin, Brandon, Nick, and Yifei. I sat on a chair huddled with my blanket and just looked up at the stars.

Today is when you should be pretty much done with your inquiry project. After the daily meeting I worked on my IMovie until lunch. I had a chat with Mr. T and he gave me some suggestions and so I went to change some things and add more pictures. I had a quick lunch, then I went back to keep on working on my project. I looked through all my folders to find more pictures. And in the end, I added 13 more pictures to my previous 4 pictures. Then at 1:30, Brandon, Alex, and I went to Si Fang Jie to talk to our service learning partner. The movie is due tomorrow so we really needed to hurry.

Our room woke up at 6:30 AM today to draw the moon since we haven't done the moon sketch in 3 days. Then I tried falling back to sleep, but the birds were chirping REALLY loudly so I couldn't fall back asleep. At breakfast, Mr. T started singing this song with all of our names in it (it's supposed to go on for 6-7 hours -.-). Today is the second last day for inquiry work, so I had to work really hard to make sure my final product gets done by tomorrow. I finished the intro part and the sharing my learning part before lunch.

Today was another sleep in day AND a bacon day!!! That put me in a very good mood. I worked on LA until lunch time, then Brandon, Alex, and I headed to Si Fang Jie to meet another possible service learning partner, the tofu vender. We first went to the fried rice place to get lunch, then we headed to Ms. Dou (tofu vender) to ask her if she is willing to work with us. She didn't understand what we were saying, so we got Mr. Yang the antique dealer to help us translate. And good news, SHE AGREED!!! We high-fived and all that, then we happily went back.

Today it was a sleep in day, but I woke up at 8:00 because I thought that Ethan, Chris, and I had to do the video shoutout. But then it turns out we are doing it after breakfast, so I lay on my bed just to mess around on my phone. At breakfast, Xiao Tang came up with an invention: Giant Cheese Pancake, it was actually really good. I worked on my SS Policy Paper after we did the shoutout. Then for lunch, Brandon, Alex, and I went to Si Fang Jie to meet up with our possible service learning partner, Mr. Su, but he didn't show up. So we ended up eating lunch with Mr. Yang the horse driver.

Today Mama T and Aunt Sheila are coming!!! I'm really excited to meet them(: Today the morning was the usual, and we went to the fried rice place for lunch. Mr. Yang (the horse carriage driver) came and chatted with us while we waited for our food. That was a really interesting conversation :D. Then during WIPPI, Alex, Brandon, and I went to visit our service learning partners with Mr. T. But they weren't home at that time so we first visited a nearby Mosque and listened to their prayers for a few minutes. Then Mr.

I can't believe we only have 8 days left of Mircocampus D; !!! Today after terrace time, I went back to the room to take a nap-ish thing on my bed. Then we had our normal daily meeting and SAS essentials. Nick, Ash, Clara, and I went to the dumpling place for lunch again, and Ash and I each bought an extra Baba. Then at 1:15, we had a Skype conversation with Katie, Sabrina, and Madeleine from the Alpha Pilot group. I got Madeleine's correct email so yay! Today is the last day of phase 3 so I submitted it for checking. Then I played badminton with Alex and Ash.

Today after terrace time, Ashley and I went to the little room next to the star deck in YZR to play piano and guitar. She borrowed Ethan's guitar and played while I practiced piano. Then we went to the daily meeting at 9:50. After that we caught up more on our school work. Then we headed to lunch at the dumpling shop for lunch. We went looking for the ice cream shop, but we don't think it's open today because we didn't find it. Today Xiao Tang is getting high-lights for her hair and we saw her on the way back, so we stopped to talk to her.

Today during breakfast, Mr. T told us an interesting story about when Mr. A and Mr. K first came to SAS. This is the first normal day after the big hike, so we did all the usual. Daily meetings, terrace time, SAS essentials, and all that. We have a lot of work to catch up with, and a lot that we need to make up. Then Alex, Nick, Sujin, Clara, Ash, and I went to the fried rice place to have lunch. Then I spent 5 RMB and bought 10 Alpenliebes. During WIPPI, we went to get our laundry. It rained last night so i was afraid that everything will be on the floor, but it was not that bad.

Today I woke up on the most comfortable thing ever. Last night I slept soooo well, it was as if I was sleeping on a cloud or a giant marshmellow. During breakfast, Mr. T started singing opera about loving Alpenliebe. Today was a catch up day so we had to do our wellness plan reflection, our SAS essentials, our journals for the past days, and whatever else you need to catch up on. I have nothing to wear since everything got dirty during the hike, so I have to go do laundry with Sujin and Ashley.

This morning I woke up frozen like a popsicle. Last night it snowed so everything was frozen and superrr cold. I changed into two layers of pants and 5 layers of shirts, but I was still freezing. My hands were so numb I couldn't tie my shoes. I wish I brought my gloves but I was really thankful for the scarf my mom made me bring. I stood outside the tent like a penguin and waddled all over the place, cleaning up the tent. Finally the sun came out and we were done putting away our tent. So Ashley and I headed up the hill to bask in the sun.

We woke up to the sound of Mr. Tafel singing a random opera he just made up about waking up. It was really cold so i grabbed my clothes and put it in my blanket to warm. After yesterday, I am still so tired. I woke up so many times last night, it's not even funny. Then Ashley, Sujin, Clara and I payed a visit to the interesting toilet. We managed to brush our teeth and then we had a breakfast of noodles with eggs. Our original plan was to hike from Big Hua Dian Ba to the Small Hua Dian Ba, camp there for the night, then hike over the mountain to Zhou Cheng.

Today is the big hike!!! I'm really excited but also really nervous. I packed a big heavy backpack full of everything I will need. We took a car to the base of the mountain and then we started hiking. It was actually not that hard, since the road is just gravel and sand and most of the slopes weren't steep. We would take a break once in a while so it isn't so tiring. We hiked up to the white house and took a group picture there. Then ate "lunch" at another flat area. We had cream pies and other sweet stuff like that.

This morning we went to the field near Mr. Duan's house for terrace time. And at 8:45, Ms. Mai brought Brandon, Alex, and I to Ms. Li and Mr. Yang's house to ask them to be our service learning partners. At first we got rejected, but then Ms. Mai went in to talk to them, and they agreed as long as there is someone to translate. So then Ms. Mai called Amy, a staff at the Linden Centre to help us translate. They turned out to be really nice and really interesting. I especially like Mr. Yang. He's a funny guy. Then we came back for our meeting and SAS essentials.

This morning I overslept and woke up at 7:21, 9 minutes before we have to get to breakfast. Last night I had the most amazing dream, it was the last day of Microcampus, (that's not good) and we had to go through this super intense machine obstacle course thing to be able to get home. So we went through the first part, and I was already really tired, but then I fell off a cliff and a parachute opened up behind me. It was kind of like sky diving, but the parachute brought us up REALLY fast, then down again REALLY fast.

Today was the same old, we went to lunch at Si Fang Jie at the dumpling store again. I think we've found our new favorite restaurant. Then at 1:00, we had WIPPI. Ashley and I headed towards the star deck to practice piano. Then at 1:30, we checked in with Ms. Kinsella over Skype. Then we went biking at 2:00. We tried a different route. Instead of turning right to the Linden Centre, we went straight and rode towards the fields. After a while, we realized that we were on our way to Er Hai, again. So that was where we headed.

Today we had to wake up at 7:00 again. I was sooo tired when I turned off my alarm. When we went to breakfast, everyone else also looked really sleepy. After breakfast we walked to the Linden Centre for terrace time. Today was a cloudy day, on the blackboard outside the reception, it said that it was going to rain. On the way back, we saw Andy again, and once again, he followed us back to YZR. We played with him for a while, then I headed to our lounge to work on Phase 3 of my inquiry project. Then at 10:00, we had a daily meeting.

Today was another sleep in day! Yay! Our whole room woke up at 9:00 AM and went to breakfast. Then I worked on my wellness plan reflection while Ashley sewed up her laundry bag. Then we went to bring the last of our laundry home. After I finished my wellness reflection, I helped Mr. T translate a letter to possible Service Learning elders. At 12:00, Nick, Ashley, and I went to lunch at the Old Town snack shop. Then at 12:20, Alex, Sujin, and Clara joined us. We ate and then headed back to YZR for the 1:00 emergency meeting.

Today I got to sleep in because i finished phase 2 in time!!! I slept until 8:50 and then went up to classroom 1 to start phase 3. After breakfast at 9:20, Ashley and I went to do the laundry. It is not as easy as it looks since the washing machine here is kind of confusing and the water for the hand washing station is very small. We spent 2 hours there before all our clothes are hung up on the drying line. Then we rushed to dinner at the Golden Flower restaurant. We estimated that we could return by 1:00, but Mr. Yang was very busy so we waited a long time before we got to order.

We woke up at 7:00 again, and after terrace time, a little doggy followed Yi Fei and Mark home. We played with him for a while and scratched him. We then found out that he is Xiao Tang's dog, Andy. He was thrown out by his previous owner because his owner got two new big dogs, so Andy was useless to him. Then Xiao Tang took him in and made him her dog. We really want to keep him but Mr. Tafel wanted to wait a few more days to make sure that we can handle keeping a pet and the responsibilities.

Today we woke up to a surprise room inspection. We quickly made our beds and changed as fast as we can. Then Mr. T and Mr. Zhao (our neighbor/security guard) came in to check our rooms. We got a 3/5 stars which was okay-ish. Then today we had terrace time at YZR's star deck instead of Linden Centre's terrace. Then we had WIPPI, and at 3:00, it came the most exciting part of the day. Clara, Sujin, Nick, Yi Fei, and I went biking to Er Hai. Yi Fei was the leader so we all followed him.

Today was a special and an awesome day. The morning was the same, wake up at 7:00, terrace time, daily meeting, SAS essentials, and lunch at YZR. But today we went on a half day outing. At 12:45, we set off to a tea plantation. We first hiked up a trail to this beautiful little lake-ish thing where the water was so clear you could see everything on the bottom. We skipped some rocks and took some photos there. Then we hiked down towards where the tea was planted. We had some Pu Er tea and Black tea, and then Ms.

This morning was the same; wake up at 7:00, breakfast at Yang Zhou Ran, and walk to the Linden Centre for terrace time. We had a daily meeting at 10:00 and got updates on homework and from the different committees. Then we did some science homework from school (SAS Essentials) and then walked to Si Fang Jie for lunch. We had friend rice at Old Town Snacks and we saw Noodles and Roo again! (They are two of the dogs we named). Then we came back for WIPPI (Wellness, Inquiry Project, Pitching In). Ashley, Clara, Sujin, and Brandon went to the Linden Centre for instrument practice.

Today we woke up at 7:00. As usual, we had breakfast at Yang Zhou Ran and then walked over to the Linden Centre to have terrace time. The sky is starting to clear up after the forest fire so the mountains were more clear and the sky was more blue. We watched the activity of the Xizhou people. Going to the market, riding bikes, walking through the fields. We watched the flocks of birds fly around the sky, it was great. Then we had updates from the different committees during our daily meeting. We then had some down time to clean up our rooms and practice instruments.

Waking up at 7:00 was a hard thing to do after the long day of traveling. We had a yummy breakfast and then headed out to visit our neighbor, Mr. Zhao. He had a beautiful house, and he told us about the Cultural Revolution, the designs on his house, and his plants. Then we walked around Yang Zhou Ran, getting to know the place we will be staying at. Later on, we went on a walk through the village. We first visited the Happy Embroidery, then we visited a rice noodle factory, then we went to Mrs. Duan's house where she danced and played the Pi Pa for us. Next we went to the local market.

I can't believe that we're already going to Xizhou. I woke up at 4:30 to meet the rest of the group at Hongqiao airport for the 3 hour flight. I had a huge suitcase, a heavy hiking bag, and my viola. It was  very hard to walk around with. The plane ride was the easy part. After the plane ride, we went on a 7 hour bus ride. That was really tiring. I had 3 bottles of water and went to the bathroom at every stop. I entertained myself by listening to other people talk, listening to music, and playing games like truth or dare.
