I along 16 other students and obviously Mr. T and Ms. Mai will be going to Xizhou for a short month. We will all have our inquiry projects. We had a huge list of options which we could choose our topics from. There are a few new ones added each time a new group goes out. All of the students went through a process of firstly finding a few which we were very interested in. Then later we had to pick one final topic we had then chosen with the help of Mr. T feedback.

In Phase 0 we have focused on finding which topic we would be interested in. We firstly had to narrow it down to a few different topics that we would be interested in learning more about and ready to take action for it. Then finally we chose our topic that we will be spending our days out in Xizhou working in and investigate further about. The topic I finally chose is Local Food Products/Cuisine. In this Phase, we will be diving deeper into our topics and finding out more about them.

After creating my "Big Questions" which we created in Phase 1 and briefly answered with briefly research more information about my topic. I will now be reaching out to the experts so I will be able to answer most of my questions and hopefully come up with a few more along the way.

After a long period of hard work on finding my inquiry project which is perfect for me with the help of Mr.T, I have successfully found it after Phase 0 and Phase 1 work. Now it is time for me to actually find out more information about this topic and start to do some research and go more deeply into my topic. The topic which I have chosen is Local Food/Cuisine.

About This Learner

My name is Pepijn. I am 13 years old and have lived in many different countries. I am originally from Holland and I now live in Shanghai. During the time I had spent Xizhou I was learning about Local Food/Cuisine. It has been really interesting to get to know the people in the community here in Xizhou. Learning about there culture everyday expands my intercultural understanding. I really enjoy spending time with the other 15 students that were lucky enough to came along on this trip with me. I am glad that I got to know more people and build stronger relationships with the people that I may not have reached out to in Shanghai. I also enjoy the lifestyle that Microcampus has provided for me. The food here is honestly really good. I have spent a great amazing 28 days here in Xizhou
