Microcampus is an opportunity to develop high personal interest on a topic in Xizhou. We as students that are contributing or have already contributed to Xizhou project needs to choose one topic to develop during Microcampus. Out of the long list of topics of choices we could only choose one specific topic with discretion to help develop new skills and to help explore the world outside the "bubble." First of all, I took a brief look-through of the topics that are available and looked at what I have done previously.

Phase 1, I will be researching some background knowledge of my topic and posing some real questions that I will be answering during my time spent in Xizhou. In Phase 0, I chose my final topic, tie-dye.

After Phase 0 and Phase 1, I already have a clear understanding of what topic I am working on and have some prior knowledge about my topic, tie-dye. In Phase 0, it is basically selecting topics and choosing the most suitable or the one I want to explore on. On the other hand, Phase 1, is all about our prior knowledge and posing some real questions for us to answer during the stay in Xizhou.

About This Learner

Hi! My name is Emilly, I am currently 14 years old. I got the opportunity to travel with 15 other peers, along with Mr. T, Ms. Mai, and Sofie. I am a member of the Wildfires 2019 Microcampus group. Throughout the trip, we are fully exposed to the real world outside of our Shanghai Bubble. During the 28 days, we need to be responsible for our own actions and keeping ourselves inside the "Box." This experience was one of the most fascinating experience I have ever had in my life. The 28 days adventure was something that I will cherish forever.
