The Microcampus Experience is a month-long trip where sixteen eighth-grade students will travel to Xizhou in China's Yunnan Province. A huge part of the trip is the Inquiry Project, where a topic of our personal interest is chosen and studied and investigated in Xizhou. As I looked through the long document including the many possible topics, I found that they were all very interesting and each one provided its own unique experience for learning in Xizhou.

In Phase 0, I considered a long list of possible topics for my inquiry project and made a decision. I chose the topic "Economics Case Study." The current step, Phase 1, is where I will be building some basic background knowledge and posing real questions on my topic.

In the previous step, Phase 1, I did intensive background research and created some major questions regarding my topic. Now, in Phase 2, I will be finding helpful resources by reaching out to experts, to assist me while doing my project.

In Phase 2, I have found helpful resources and explained my prior research process. I learned more through ways including sending an email to a renowned economist. Now In Phase 3, I will be collecting facts and interpreting my information.

Hello, my name is Linden. I am now thirteen years old and have just completed my third year living in Shanghai. Microcampus was a great opportunity that I did not regret. I miss everything about Xizhou—the local community, blue skies, clean air, and beautiful atmosphere. The experience was life-changing and promising and I hope for the successful outcome of future groups.
