Today is November 26. Today's schedule is like yesterday's. I and my friends are going to go on a run during our downtime, and we will have quite a time on the sidewalks, so we can watch the cars pass by. We are going to run to the Linden Centre and back, so we can get 30 minutes in zone. For breakfast today there were pancakes. The pancakes were very tasty and were made perfectly. Weekends are great days because we get to sleep in and take a rest from the hardworking days during the weekdays.

Today we were introduced to service learning. Mr. T first started by 150 years of the history of China in 120 minutes, Mr. T said it would be a very boring 150 minutes but it was actually very interesting to learn more about Chinese culture. After the 150 minutes, he partnered us up in three groups. Then he gave us an hour to go out to make more connections. Some rules for service learning are to find someone over the age of 65 as they might have a lot of wisdom. My group and I met a nice lady who made shoe soles for a living.

Today was a very eventful day, I woke up earlier than usual to start my laundry in the morning. Then during pitching in time, I went back to the laundry room to continue my laundry by hanging my clothes. Afterwards, I went back to making next weeks menu as I am on the food committee. After lunch I did WIPPIS, but today I only worked on my inquiry project. Then I got ready for my trip to Zhoucheng. Zhoucheng is the textile production capital of Dali. While Henin C. and I were there we got to see two tie-dye factories.

Today was our first day out and about, we were on a mission to learn about the citizens of Xizhou. Michael B, Holly D, and I walked around the Main Square talking to citizens and introducing ourselves. All of the elders in the village are so welcoming and nice. While walking around the Main Square we met a lot of new people. Yesterday's memory is still imprinted in my mind and I can't wait until I can go back to Zhoucheng again and visit Xiao Bai and ask her more questions.

Time flies by when you're having fun, they say, and I can't believe it's been a week of Microcampus already. I miss my friends and family in Shanghai lots but I'm also loving it here in Xizhou. This past week has been amazing, meeting villagers, trying out the food, and understanding the Microcampus schedule. In the morning we start off with breakfast, followed by SAS essentials, daily meeting and then pitching in for the AM duties. During lunch, we either all stay in or all go out. The original plan was to have us go out 1 group at a time and have the rest stay in.

Today, November 25, day 8 of Microcampus marks the first official week of our adventure over. Throughout the highs and lows, it feels as though we are only on day two and adjusting to the rules. Today we had our first full weekend, this is time for the students to relax, catch up on work, and recharge our batteries. We also got an introduction to what we are doing and how to start our service learning. Services learning is having to interview elders of the Xizhou community about their life and past history. This person that we will be interviewing will need to have a connection with us.

Zhoucheng is the mother city of tie-dye. In that one city, there are so many different stores filled with tie-dye tapestries. Also in the city, there are two big factories where they dye the fabric. There are two specific tie-dye factories, and we visited both. The first one we visited was a synthetic dye factory shop, and the second one was more of a natural dye factory. Both factories have the same process, however, the first one was more of a factory, and the second one was somewhat like a place where tourists come to enjoy the art of tie-dye.

Yesterday was November 24th. It was a day of thanks, it was a day where we reflected on our past experiences. It was a great day as we have just finished getting to know the village like our homes, and are ready to familiarize ourselves with the surrounding environment. Throughout my independent reflection, I could not help think that we are so lucky to be experiencing this trip. We are finally getting to know China outside the 'Bubble".

Yesterday was November 24. Today was a day of thanks. After the long day of working, we settled down with a Thanksgiving feast for dinner. It was very tasty. They had many foods that I also eat on Thanksgiving, including turkey, vegetables, apple pie, and chicken. During dinner, I got to get to know many students and even some teachers, like Ms. Song and Mr. Chen. After our lovely feast, we had our evening program. After eating dinner I decided to reflect on myself, and I realized what a great opportunity this is to be on Microcampus.

Yesterday was November 23 or also known as Thanksgiving. I forgot all about it until our 5:45 daily meeting before dinner. I was so excited that I got to have Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving day. This was the first time in three years due to activities and conflicts. There was also another first yesterday for me, it was the first time for me that the head if the turkey's head was on the plat. After a meal of french fries, turkey, and broccoli, there was apple pie for dessert.

On November 23 I went out and about for my social wellness instead of physical. During this time another Microcampus went around the village making connections and conversations with the citizens of Xizhou. Making connections is also a task at Microcampus. The whole group needs 10 contacts in two days and I received six in one day. I started conversations by admiring people's  shop items, work ethic, and even with people that know my sister from her trip. I also connected with my sister because two of my contacts were people that my sister worked with.
