Today was the first day of double digits, and I can't believe it been more than 1/3 of Microcampus already. Alumni have told us to time flies by fast, and we have to cherish every opportunity given. During WIPPIS time today, Mr. Chen and I went to visit some young adults. This young staff at the Linden Center, Yang Ge, is an optimistic guy who loves the outdoors. Since the technology wasn't popular ten years ago, he spent most of his teenage years playing with animals and sports. I also met one of Mr. Chen's friends, A Ping, who works at a coffee shop on the way to the Linden Center.

Yesterday, I visited the Cheese Factory where they make cheese and sell tie-dye tapestries and embroidery pieces as well. Today's purpose was to learn about how embroidery is on the market, and also different Happy embroidery to figure out what the differences are. The difference between the two places I found was astonishing, and I almost couldn't believe how different the two places were. In normal local shops, each tapestry cost around eighty yuan, but in Happy Embroidery, where they do everything in the old traditional way, the price of one tapestry was around a few thousand.

She is a 4-year-old, she is a mixed breed dog: golden retriever and Labrador. For lunch, we were all in and today evening we are all going to eat out. We have not decided our partners for eating yet. Today I am going out with Mr Chen and Ms Braverman for teacher support. I am going to go see some shop owners and ask them a few questions. I might go to a place like the afternoon market to find people that sell snacks.

Today is November 28. I visited the Mosque with Mr. Tafel. We sat and watched the men pray, and after they were done, they braught us over to eat with them. They were having a feast and they wanted us to join them. We sat down and started talking to them. I talked to one man named Mr. Zhang Xiong. He was very kind and answered all of my questions. After going out and about with Mr. Tafel, we came back and we did wellness. For wellness today, we did running and CrossFit. It was a good workout, and I got a good time in the zone. For dinner, we all went out to eat in Si Fang Jie.

Today was the first time that I have done social wellness, and I really enjoyed it. My partner and I stopped at a few shops and we made around seven connections. We were in a tea shop, and the owner was very nice. He let us try many different types of tea, and was very kind and explained everything to us. After that, I went to have the Inquiry project portion of my WIPPIS time with Ms. Braverman, and I got to talk to a few people who gave me very thorough and interesting answers. Today is the first day of week 2, and it feels like the time is passing by very quickly.

Today, I started off with SAS Essentials and finished quickly. In the afternoon we had WIPPIS time again. I first had pitching in and I finished up some committee work that I did not finish in the morning. Then I had inquiry project time and I went out with Ms. Mai to look at tie-dye shops near Si Fang Jie and the Linden Centre.

Today is November 27th, 2017, and today is the beginning of a new week. Sadly, the relaxing and restful weekend had passed and today is the Monday of our second week at Xizhou. To get ready for this brand new week, we first had to adjust back to our early wake-up schedule. If that was not tiring enough, today was our laundry day as well, meaning that we had to wake up even earlier! If I am not mistaken, that is almost a 2-hour gap. Laundry today morning was exactly like last time, "bone-chilling" cold.

Last night we got to either read or play board games as our evening activity. Chris, Saleem, and I chose to take a break from reading like we have been for the past few days to have fun with each other by playing the board game Catan. After setting up the complicated board and taught Chris the rules fifteen minutes later we started to play. As the game went along there were grudges and spots that needed teaching.

The tourism industry has become a huge part of Xizhou's economy, especially in the past 4 years. Xizhou has witnessed rapid growth with a constant flow of people entering and leaving. As a part of my inquiry work, I investigated the positive and negative impacts of tourism in Xizhou on the environment and textile industry. The following of what I have written doesn't exactly relate to my topic, but ever since I heard the concept of tourism, I couldn't help wanting to find out more...

In our first official Saturday of Microcampus, Mr. T gave us a 150 minute lesson about the history of China. People like to say China's history is 5000 years but it's actually 100 years repeated 50 times.  It was actually really interesting to me since I learned a lot about the CCP and KMT. This was important in order to learn more about our inquiry project and service learning.

Today was Sunday, which meant that we got to sleep in. Today was the first time this week that I got to sleep for 10 hours. After that, we had breakfast, where we had these pancakes that we get to have almost every morning. The pancakes were really strange at first, but now they are actually very good. When my partner and I went out during downtime, we go to see how Xizhou Baba was made then cooked which was quite interesting. This weekend, the weather was very good, and it was warm and sunny and very enjoyable.

Today is November 26th, 2017, and today is the day that Mr. Tafel shared a little secret of his with us. The morning today started off like yesterday. We slept in, ate a late breakfast and then tidied up our room. Next came the 1 and a half hour wellness reflection, where we answered and reflected on our physical, emotional, social wellness during the past week. After that was lunchtime, and after lunch was when Mr. Tafel shared his secret with us. Turns out Mr. Tafel had an extremely strong psychic connection with a coin and he can even detect the whereabouts of this coin.

Today November 26 day 9, I'm getting my hair cut with Chris L. and Mr. Tafel. I have made time to do this because over the weekend our schedule is more laid back and we have more time to recharge. I have a time period of 2 hours and 45 minutes for recharge, that is the time when we recharge. Instead of that, I am using it to trim off my hair. I am also going on a run with Saleem E. and Chris when I finish this very journal entry. We are going to run from Zhuo Ran to the Linden Centre there back and there back again.

Today was the first day when I can finally learn about embroidery! After so long with all of the introductions and basic on embroidery, I can finally get my hand on the actual fabric and stitch the patterns I want to. Today will be what I will use as my main learning on embroidery. I have heard so much about embroidery itself, and the history, but I have never been able to experience the ways you can create a piece of art where everything looks so realistic.
