Today was a very hectic day for the Ultimate group. We all started off the day as usual with our morning routine (breakfast, mindfulness, SAS essentials, pitching-in). In the morning I told Mr. T my hooks and hangers for my final product. Afterwards in the afternoon is when the afternoon became a hectic one. In the afternoon I came back from lunch with my service learning group and showed Mr. T our photos of potential partners. Sadly one of our connections has already been a service-learning partner.

Today during the daily meeting I was the facilitator, which meant that I was the person that conducted the meeting. We then had pitching in, lunch and then WIPPIS time. Every day we are given 4 hours and 30 minutes for WIPPIS time. We are given 2 hours of inquiry project time, 1 hour for pitching in, 1 hour for wellness and 30 minutes of still time.

Today is December 5th, 2017, and today was a hectic day for everyone in the Ultimate group. Today, was our 18th day at Xizhou and today, our Phase 3 work was due, so everyone was working extremely hard to accomplish that. Before our Inquiry Project time started in the afternoon and after we came back early from lunch outside, my group and I found Mr. Tafel playing with a small Hacky Sack. We were very interested in this little ball of beans and asked Mr. Tafel if we could try playing it with him. Of course, Mr. Tafel agreed without even hesitating.

Today is December 5 and also day 18. We are already passed the halfway point of our Microcampus trip. Yesterday for dinner, the whole group went out to eat at a Ma La Tang restaurant. Ma La Tang is like hot pot, but with noodles. We then came home and settled down with some quiet reading, and then went off the bed. The next day we went through our daily cycle again. When we came back from lunch, Mr. Tafel brought out the hacky sack. We joined him to play, and at first, it was just three people.

Today December 4th I made my first tie-dye piece traditionally. I have already made various tie-dye pieces but I never made one in a traditional way. In the morning I did my math SAS essentials, did some pitching-in work, and lastly, I got to be the facilitator for the second time on the trip! During morning pitching-in I did my committee work and I also organized my room. In the afternoon came the time that I have been waiting for forever, I was able to go make a tie-dyed piece.

Today we had a day like most of them. I started off with doing my SAS Essentials today was math, we then had the daily meeting. For today's daily meeting I was the minutes, which means that I took notes for everything people said. Next daily meeting I will be the facilitator. After the daily meeting, we had pitching in, in which my partner and I had to film our daily video shoutout. We talked about the hike and the camp. We also had all our committee meetings, and this is when I had my talk about the 'hangers and hooks'. After pitching in we had lunch, we all ate inside today.

Today is December 4th, 2017, and today is the day I went to Bao Chen Fu, a building associated with the Linden Centre, to do my still time. The morning started out like any other, breakfast, SAS Essentials, Daily Meeting, and finally Pitching In before lunch. Since today is a Monday, we had to adjust back to our normal sleeping routine, which still ensured us 9 hours of sleep, but just a lot earlier. Luckily, we had already done our laundry on Saturday, so we do not have to wake up extra early.

Today is December 4. It is Monday so it is the start of a new hardworking week. After our breakfast and committee meetings, my partner and I went over to the bank to exchange our money into smaller bills. After our pitching in AM and our lunch, we had our teacher support sessions. For teacher support today, I went and talked to two people. The first person I talked to was Zhao shi fu, the security guard here in Yang Zhou Ren. I talked to him about stories he might know related to the Erhai Lake. he told me this one story about two dragons fighting.

Yesterday, we found one of our potential service learning partners, Ms. Zhou. Ms. Zhou is 65 years old and has her own scarf/textiles shop. She runs it with her daughter in law, who also has a shop next to her. Ms. Zhou is so nice, and she gives us hugs everytime she sees us, as well as fruits every time we go talk to her in her shop. This morning, we had mindfulness before SAS Essentials, and the mindfulness track which we listened to required food, so we got mandarins. After that, We had SAS Essentials which was Math today.

Today is the second to last day to interview people in the Xizhou community. Today I wish to spend my hour learning about the ten questions I set at the beginning of Microcampus. I really wish to find all of my answers and recap all of my other knowledge. The Cheese Factory is another place where I want to find all of my answers. I think that I will not spend much time in the shops but spend most of my time on Phase 3 because I need to answer my ten questions and not add on to my information from local contacts.

Today is December 4 and day 17 of Microcampus. Today I went to Bao Cheng Fu, this place is one of the partners with the Linden Centre and also Microcampus. Today Julia, Henin and I all went there for wellness and still time. Still time is a 30 minute period where you and your group members all sit silently and watch to world happen right before your eyes. My group and I got our badminton kit from the back courtyard and left for Bao Cheng Fu.

Today Hayley S. and I used our Down Time to work around the village. While walking we found a tea shop that looked very interesting. When we stepped into the tea shop, the owner ushered us in and showed us many different types of tea and introduced us to many traditional teas that the Yunnan province had specifically. He told us that his main job in the tea carrier is to find the 7 most important things in Yunnan. He let us try two different types of tea. However, the difference between this tea and the ones we find in the supermarket is that the tea was made into a jam.

Today was a day of inquiry, a day of exploration, and a day filled with wonder... Ms. Mai and I had decided to explore the path beyond the Linde Centre, not knowing exactly what we might find. What had awaited us was something I couldn't image, as we both turned the corner to find the unexpected. To our surprise, we had found a couple of textile shops displaying their own handmade, beautiful pieces of art. I knew I was in for a treat, for what I was about to find did infact, push my project forward for the better.

Today my service learning group and I found many potential service learning partners. In the morning we had our week 2 wellness reflection where we talked about our social, mental, physical, and emotional wellness. While writing my reflection I realized that I should be more physically active. After lunch, Nina A., Chris L., and I headed out to SiFang Jie to make more connections. We met 3 very nice and interesting service learning partners.

Today morning we undid our tents from yesterday's campout,  we were all a bit tired as it was cold at night and some of us kept waking up.  I am very glad we had this experience, I learned a lot about myself and my peers.  My shoulders are still a bit sore from the hike, but being able to watch the mountains in the morning made the hike worth it.  When I was finally completely awake I walked around the campsite and had some still time there. The campsite was filled with ponds, ducks, chickens, roosters, and beautiful flowers.

Today was our last to chill and relax before our last full week of Microcampus full of due dates. I love weekends at Microcampus because we get 1 hour of Down Time and half an hour of still time. Back in Shanghai, I never have the opportunity to stare at the blue skies, forget about my stress and wonder. The terrace here at our home, Yang Zhou Ran is beautiful and a perfect spot for stress relieve.

In the morning of Microcampus day 15, we undid our tents and prepared to leave our campsite clean. The campsite was full of ponds, flowers and ducks and chicken around us. I wished we could have stayed here for a few more days even though it was freezing at night.

Tomorrow we are hiking to the Jade Belt!  Today was also a very eventful day. After breakfast during SAS essentials Wilbur arrived, Wilbur is one of Mr. T's alter-egos.  Wilbur specializes in threading and is planning on making his own youtube channel even though he does not know how to use Youtube.  In the afternoon Ms. Braverman and I  got to go back to the cheese factory and asked Zhang Jie more questions concerning my inquiry project.  She explained about patterns, colors, dyes, preferences, etc.

Today is December 3rd, day 16 of Microcampus. Yesterday was the day after the hike. We went camping, and in the morning our tent was freezing. The insides of the tent were wet, due to all the condensation and breathing that happened while we were asleep. The first thing that I noticed when I went outside was that there was frost on the ground outside, and that it was freezing. The clouds which were normally way up in the sky were much lower, and everything ended at the same place as if there was an invisible ceiling. For breakfast, we ate inside a dome that was a greenhouse.
