During a still time, I was by Lake Er Hai looking out on the beautiful scenery until I started to think about Home. This is the longest I have ever been away from my family and it is a bit challenging. I miss seeing my family every day and friends. I know that it is good practice for when I move on in life and in appreciate for the chance that is given. However, the 12 days have been truly amazing. I'm glad that I will soon see my family but also sad that this truly amazing journey will be over.

Today Annie and I went out for a bike ride during our wellness time. On the way to Er Hai, it was mostly down hill and it was relativley easy, but on our way back the wind blew extremely hard plus we were biking up hill. When we were down at the lake, we saw the water up close. After staring at the water for a while, I started to thin about swimming. It is the second week of Microcampus and I am already starting to miss swimming. Even though back in Shanghai, I never wanted to go to swimming training, I really wish that I could go swimming now.

Today I was partners with Angela for WIPPIS time. It was yet another beautiful day in XiZhou, there was no rain, and the sun was shining the whole day. For wellness today we biked down to Er Hai, we biked into a small path leading into the lake. There were many bugs there. We were surrounded by trees, shrubs, and many other plants. When we had still time there we realized that many things had died and decayed, but these things were the things that supported the growth of other plants. When we were biking around the lake, I saw a few graves and mushrooms.

Writing an idea in the journal is very difficult because there are so many events that happened today. There is a time where I was the meeting facilitator and it was the first time I held a meeting. I was very glad that the superior group students supported me along the way because I was not very sure what to speak. I was really nervous and after the meeting, I felt much better and next time I would not be as nervous anymore. Another time that sparked me was during still time where I was in lake er hai with Barton.

Today I combined Wellness and Still Time so we could have a longer outing, Nicole and me, we biked down to Lake Erhai and I sat right next to the lake on a rock for Still Time. It was very relaxing listening to the water brushing against the rocks and to see the algae waving about in the limpid water. Although I prefer Wellness and Still Time in the middle of the schedule, so it can function as a break, one benefit of having it first is that it readies me for Pitching In work and Inquiry Project work.

For evening activity we are having Mr. T Wiz Bang Allstar Superduper Trivia Night. This is the world renowned trivia game that is have heard so much about and am really excited to participate. It is the first time in about a week that we have had blue, clear skies. It was also the day we talked to the next Microcampus group. Angela, Laura and I had a skype call with the Micorcampus group coming right after us to answer some questions. It was great to meet the Tactical group and to be able to clarify some questions they needed to answered.

Today was mostly the same as all the other days. Laura and I practiced hacky sack today. It's just hitting this sack with sand or beans inside with any part of our body (mostly feet) to pass the sack around. We have been practicing quite a bit these days. We are improving from not being able to hit the ball at all to at least being able to hit the ball once or twice and if we are lucky we pass it back and forth.

After a week of communicating with villagers, I felt that my skills really improved. Today, for my inquiry time, I had a conversation with Mr.Du and he helped me so much. I asked him lots of questions and he was very open to talk with me. This time, there was no awkward silence and we both kept on making the conversation going, Mr. Du is a very nice, wise, and open guy which anyone can talk to. In the conversation, he would openly share his life with me and how he puts allegory to describe something better.

Day 10 of Microcampus was the first day back from a weekend of rest and recovery, and a productive one at that. I learned how to operate a tea set with Ms. Zhao and visited two more shops for information, so when it comes to inquiry productivity, I would say that today was extremely fruitful.

Today was a beautiful day, the sky was blue and there was no rain. The sun was shining, but just enough so that it isn't too hot, yet it feels warm and comforting on our faces. Today was the first day of the second week where we got to choose our WIPPIS time partners for the week. Today I went to talk to horse cart drivers, but many of them were not willing to talk to me since I was not going to ride the cart, so I decided to go look for other people. I found a young lady who goes by the name of Ms. Pan. She made tie dye pieces which were extremely beautiful.

Today was the start of the week and I'm glad to report I am not ready. The sudden workload caught me a little off-guard in the morning but I was able to ease my way back into the week. At the bank, i had a great conversation with a nice elderly lady. She was very nice and have heard from other people about our program. Today was also a beautiful day and the way to the bank we found a wonderful Bao Zi place. Up next I have my conversation with the Mr. Du, An antique dealer nearby to talk to hm about his children.

The one very special thing about Microcampus is that there is ample opportunity to make connections. There are many nice people here in Xizhou. For example, the first real connection I've made was Mr. Zhang, whom everyone refers to by Lao Mao. He sells antiques near the Linden Centre and is a very nice guy. He always smiles and is always very welcoming. I really like how the people in this village are very honest and warm. The Xizhou community is a very tight community. It's this kind of community that we need. The kind of community one needs to succeed.

On day 9 of Microcampus, it was the second day of a weekend of rest and recovery, during which all of us suffer immense boredom. In the afternoon, Annie and I went into the village to acquaint ourselves with the villagers and to take a look at what the village was selling.

Today from one pm to five thirty pm, we have the freedom to do anything we want to do. So, I cleaned my room, fix phase 2, fill in my calendar, exercised, and meditate. Meditation was the best part of my day where I listen to this youtube music and just meditate in a sleep position. It was so relaxing once I got the hang of it. I felt that I was so relaxed that it was the only time I did not worry about the past or the future. I just listen to music and breath.

Today marks the start of a new week. My goal for this week is to stay dialed in and always roll out as many backup plans as possible. I would also like to stay healthy and ready. I have filled out all the slots in my Schedule Planner already. I know every single Microcampus alumni emphasizes that time flies. The first time you realize how fast time flies here is when you are actually here, mentally and physically. Our time here is very precious and the priority should be put on making connections with the community.

I woke up to beautiful blue skies with barely any clouds. Today is Sunday and is a day of rest and recovery for us. In the morning we needed to complete a wellness reflection for the week. We took around an hour to complete the reflection. Afterward, we had lunch in House and a meal design by us students. Today was an absolute amazing day and hopefully will go for a bike ride soon. Today for evening activity we will be getting prepared for the week ahead.
