We were lucky enough to not have any toilet issues throughout the first 3 weeks. But, tonight we were all scarred. I called Mr. T to let him know that our toilet was clogged and he came as soon as he could. He showed up at our door with a plunger and a bucket. We told him that it was not flushing and then other substances started coming up. He went into the bathroom after we warned him how bad it smelt, and all we heard were loud noises. Banging, slushing, water running, grunting... It was quite funny actually. Mr.

After a day of cold rain I get in the nice warm shower. As the water falls on me I shampoo my hair. As I am washing the shampoo out of my hair the shower head comes down and hits my head as the shower head hits the floor my roommates ask me if I am ok, I answer, yes I am fine. I tell them what happen then I call Mr. T to tell him the story of the shower head. He says to use the other shower head, but the other one has very light pressure, you could say it was an interesting Microcampus experience.

This morning, Yannick, Sydney, Sabrine, and I walked around SFJ in an attempt to find a new Service Learning Partner (after Yang Nai Nai fell sick and didn't want to be filmed anymore). The sky was cloudy, everything was grey, and it was starting to rain a little. There was no one was outside.

Today for my Inquiry Project, Mr Tafel and I went to DaLi Old Town to continue on my wood carving. By the four times I've already gone, I was pretty accustomed to the environment: busy people, smoke in the air, chill place... All good stuff. Compared to my first visit, I was falling in the swing of things. My piece really came along, and my teacher said I learn quickly. I think I'll be done halfway through my next visit, so I might carve another small little piece just for fun.

My group raced along SiFangJie trying to find a Service Learning partner. We had one or two that have already been used and went to plan C, D, E, and lastly F. This person, if we found one, would have to be our partner or we were not going to do the project. At last a man with a fox scarf waved at us and we immediatly approached him. He told us that he was 69 years old and said that if we wanted to talk then we should meet him after lunch and he will take us to his house. We were very excited that we finally had a partner. We are very excited to show the video.

Like. Um. Er. So. Yeah. These are all examples of daily viruses - words that we use when we are unsure of what to say. We have all used them before, even if we are unawawre of it. Today, during the daily meeting, Mr. T. was secretly keeping track of the people who started their comittee and school reports with a verbal virus or with a strong opening. I was in charge of reporting for the evening activity comittee as well as humanities work. When he started reading out the names of people that started their sentence with a verbal virus, they grew red with embarrassment.

Today was our first day of Phase 4. At one o'clock, the start of WIPPIS time, a meeting was held in order to receive an explanation on the final product, which was needed to complete phase 4. Unfortunately, my Wifi decided not to work, leaving me unable to connect to the internet. During our work time, I made use of the minutes by discussing with Mr. T about my hangers and hooks, or in other words, my final product. Mr. T told me of his idea of a photo mosaic, which I was thinking about earlier. I was delighted to hear that he will provide or purchase the software needed or the process.

Today we did speed dishes. Riko and I were on dish duty but soon after breakfast, she had a formative math quiz. We rushed in and scraped the plates into the trash, compost, or noodle sink. Then Riko rinsed all the plates while I rinsed the bowls. Next, she scrubbed the dishes and passed them to me and I rinsed the soap off, placing all the dishes into a plastic basket. After all the dishes were clean, we dried them together. This was the fastest time I had ever washed dishes.

The entire trip the weather has been picture perfect, and today is one of those odd days where the weather is not flawless. Last night and this morning the ground was wet from rain, and as I am currently sitting here in YangZhouran writing this entry there is drops of water falling around me. The weather is chillier today and there are clouds filling up the entire sky. To be completely honest I like this gray day, and the chilliness reminds me that christmas and new years are approaching soon.

The tan tiles turned brown, drop by drop. The light rain falling until it bounces off the now brown tiles. I try to follow the rain drop as it falls from the sky. I never can, it's always going to fast and it's to small.  As I sit in the white chair doing my work I look up at the sky again and see the rain drops falling harder and faster.  I look at the puddles starting to form on the tiles and thats when I start wishing we did not have laundry today.

Today at breakfast Mr. T was bragging about his new amazing bag, I didn't think it was that amazing, but I just went along with it so that he would feel good about himself. Later in the day we started on our Phase 4 work, and finished it as well. It wasn't very hard to do, as it was a very short phase and did not include much work.

Today I felt proud of myself. Not because I scored ina soccer game, not because I got 60 fire on snapchat, but becasue I worked hard and I tried really hard. Today I did Phase 4, almost finished my book, wrote a humanities essay, and did a science project. I worked hard and was very focaused from the moment I started to the moment I ended. I have never felt good for doing wok, but now I will be wanting to feel proud of myself.

Today was not a sunny day. It was dark and gloomy. The whole sort of just went slower than usual because the sky full of gray clouds. Do you know that feeling of sadness that sneaks up on you when there is a rainy day? That was how I felt today. There were times when the sun came out today and there were times when I was happy today. I am looking forward to the sun coming out again before we leave. Mr. T said that the weather will be like this for a couple of days but I can not wait to see the sun again.

Service learning has been a struggle. Mr. Zhang had agreed to be our partner but said he was too busy gambling. Yang nai nai said she was very sick and camera shy. Li nai nai is no where to be found. We have talked to so many people and keep being turned down. I have written a journal post about this already but I thought I should talk more about it. A couple days ago, we were trying to talk to a lady but she was not paying attention. She just kept repeating the same sentence. Then, a lady who knew her came up to us and told us to leave. She said that the lady was deaf and grumpy.

Tonight, I went with 7 other girls, plus Mr. T to Dali Old Town. Origanally, the trip was canceled because lots of people were not on good behavior. But, Mr. T decided to not take the whole group and leave behind the others at Yangzhou Ran. After getting a 5 minute tour around the town so we would get lost, we were told that we should go eat dinner, shop a little, and explore the town. It was a lot different than I expected. There were lights on a lot of the buildings, lots of stores and tourist shops, and western food everywhere.

Today is the day that we start (and finish) Phase 4 in our projects. We all got into classroom one and sat there for about two hours and a half both listening to Mr T guiding us further through the process and editing our Phase 4. Phase 4 is about developing our final product, so we had to consider what our final product was going to look like and what it would be about. Towards the end, Mr T gave us a perspective on the deadline of the final product (10:00 AM, Monday), and two pieces of advice.

Last night, I was one of 8 students who were able to go to Dali Old Town for dinner. The place was a relatively touristy place with many souvenier shops and cafe's that were clearly constructed to attract tourists. Along with Sabrine, Joanne, and Melanie, we went to Stella's Pizzeria for dinner. I had a burger with fries, even though the burger wasn't really good and I mainly ate fries.
