Phase 4: Preparing to Share: Emerging Ideas

Updated 3 years 9 months ago

As I move forward with my journey in Xi Zhou, my main point that I hope to share with people is the beauty and significance of the symbolism behind the intricate designs of wood carvings. I have seen many interesting carvings, but not understand what they mean at all. It would be nice if people could understand the true beauty of wood carving, hidden deep within it. A wood carving of a beautiful landscape magnificent by itself, but would it not be even more glorious if you could understand the meaning behind this piece of artwork? By understanding and learning about these designs and their meanings, I can present to the world what I have learned.

The people whom this report is intended for are those who want to learn of the meaning behind wood carving designs. I would like to present my work for family and friends, for them to see the process of my learned while I am away fro, home for a month. Of course, this is also intended for teachers, both in microcampus an back in SAS, to be able to read. Another audience are future microcampus groups who would need help on their topic if related to wood carving. After I am done with all my work, I might also like to share my work with the people who taught me how to carve wood. All these people are welcome to read my work.

Some more information, in addition to my main point, that is important and I want to share are the tools used when carving wood, the process of wood carving, and bits of the main history behind wood carving. Having learned to wood carve during this trip, I can relate to the process of me carving, and use it for both information and evidence of my learning process.

To express my message to my audience to the fullest, the media that would best fit my topic would, of course, be wood. On a piece of wood, I, by myself, would carve a picture that represents myself and microcampus. This picture would provide both the process and the result of my journey.

Hello, my name is Alisa. I am an Alumni from Group C, the Cookie Monsters. Over the course of one month, I strengthen my bond with Mr.T and Mrs. Mai, as well as my wonderful friends who accompanied me on my journey. I learned so many things, went so many places, met so many people, ate lots of delicious foods! My adventure in Xi Zhou never failed to keep me laughing. By the end of the trip, I was a wood carving master, and had a family of eighteen crazy cookie monsters, whom I shared this amazing journey with. My trip to Xi Zhou changed my way of thinking and how I live my life. I will never forget the memories I made at Xi Zhou as a member of the Cookie Monsters.
