Phase 4: Preparing to Share: Emerging Ideas

In Phase 0 the start of the journey, I chose my topic out of the wide range of possibilities. In Phase 1 we created questions that would later on drive the research process. Once we came up with our 10 big questions we found resources in Phase 2. Part of Phase 3 was completed in Shanghai as background research. Once we arrived in XiZhou the rest of Phase 3 was completed. Here in Phase 4 I will be working on my outline and plan for my Final Product.

Who is my audience?

My audience members are most likely to be English speaking young adults who are interested in learning about gardening in the country side. Also possibly future Microcampus students looking to learn more about their own topic. My product will not be in the form of a very official article, therefore people looking to find an abundant amount of information will most likely not be interested in my product.

My purpose and intended intention of my work is to inspire. I hope to instill in people the energy to make a difference in not only their own lives but the lives around them. I hope to aid people in understanding more about the benefits of backyard gardening.  My thesis for this end product is; in order to investigate the viewpoints on why the residence of XiZhou garden in their backyard, one must consider the personal satisfaction, the physical health benefits, and the benefits for the environment. 

I will be creating an iMovie video as my final product and using vibrant photos to make sure to keep the audiences attention. It will be a relatively faster paced video to ensure that I do not lose my audiences focus. Something important to know is that I have slightly changed my topic, mostly narrowing it down to only backyard gardens.

My name is Laura L. and I am a student for Shanghai American School. I was part of the Group Superior during the spring of 2017. It was an a breathtaking experience consisting of extraordinary and wondrous events. It was one of hardest and best things I have ever decided to do. I learned many valuable lessons and I it was honoring to have been able to attend this program with my fellow peers. The 28 days I spent in Xizhou were life-changing remarkable.
