Looking Ahead to My Microcampus Experience
In the beginning, I was so nervous about not getting into Microcampus. When, I heard there were close to 40 people applying for the trip, I said to myself "I am definitely not making it in." I had a rough start of the year. I was surprised that there was a big difference between the difficulty of 7th and 8th grade and I think I needed some time to adjust to that. Having the Microcampus application process during that time just stressed me out and I just thought I knew that I wasn't getting in.
However, I did. I was just so excited that I got accepted into the trip, but along with that joy came other emotions. When I was applying, I thought about the time I would be gone, but when I really started to think about it, I realized that it is going to be a long time away from my family. I was a little afraid and I still am, but I know that I can still have a great time and know that I will see my parents after a great trip of fun and learning.
I am so excited for all the new experiences that I will get to have. I have lived in China for 3/4ths of my life and during that time, I have never been able to feel the way Chinese people live. I hope that during this trip I will be able to learn and grow while having a great time and making new friends.
Speaking of new friends, I am so excited to spend time with some classmates that I haven't gotten to know yet. However, I am also a little worried about sleeping. Sleep is really important to me and I don't really enjoy talking into to the night until like 1. I can understand a little of chatting, but not over board. I know this might sound silly, but you might enjoy it too! :)
I am so excited for this trip and I know that we will all have a great time and have new wonderful experiences! I can't wait!
