Looking Ahead to My Microcampus Experience

Ever since last year I always heard my friends talking about Microcampus. At that time, I was still pretty new to SAS compared to them, as most of them had been at SAS for quite a while, so I had no clue of what Microcampus was. When I found out, I immediately thought; this is definitely something I'd like to experience.

And now, about one year later, I'm part of the V group, and in about 5 months I'm going to be part of the Microcampus experience, something I've been eager to be part of since I was in 7th grade. I am really looking forward to the opportunity to experience life outside busy Shanghai. I'm excited to see the pristine village of Xizhou, and get the chance to learn about some topics that I haven't explored in school before. I look forward to having the chance to completely step out of my comfort zone, and experience new things that I thought I would never experience. I believe that after the trip, I will have a drastically different mindset, and my perspective towards everything would have changed as well. Looking back to it now, I feel like 7th grade passed like a rush of wind, as it seemed like it was only yesterday that my friend told me all about the wonders of Microcampus. I'm happy to be able to participate in such an experience, and I'm really looking foward to it.

I was born in Canada and my family is from China. I am currently 13 years old, and in my free time, I enjoy reading, playing soccer, playing the guitar, and spending time with my friends. Before moving to the busy city of Shanghai, I lived in Canada and sunny California. SAS has been my favorite school out of the two schools I have been to before, as it offers so many intriguing experiences (like China Alive and Microcampus!) and because it has such a lovely community as well. I am part of the V group of Microcampus, and I am really looking forward to being part of the Microcampus experience!
