Looking ahead to my Microcampus experience

This is my first journal on the Microcampus site!

So excited.

I am a Microcampus student from the V group called Clark, and I am extremely excited about my Microcampus experience.  After my fellow V group students and I were assembled into a Skype chat, I began feeling like all of us are a community ready for challenges ahead of us.  Apparently, what I am writing now is a part of this challenge, to record my feelings before, during and after the trip.

The destination for Microcampus this year is XiZhou in the YunNan province.  I have never been there, which makes me more eager to learn about the people, environment, and the cultures there.  In my application, I had chosen Tea culture/Photography as my inquiry project focus.  However, lately, I had been wavering about which I should choose.  Tea culture is something that is not so familiar to me but it could be potentially interesting to go out into the sunlight and pick tea leaves.  On the other hand, Photography is something that I am always passionate about but it could mean that there will be some extra weight in my suitcase.

Couldn't think of anything else to write...

Clark Wu #journal1

I am Clark W. and I am super excited about my adventure in Xizhou, Yunnan. I was born in Lancaster, Pennslyvania, but spent most of my life in Shanghai. My inquiry project will be focused on Local Antique Trade/Tea Horse Trail because I am passionate and curious about the history and stories behind antiques and the trade's effects on Xizhou. I hope that I could explore China outside the "bubble" and learn to be more independent throughout this amazing experience.
