I decided to choose this topic because for a long time in my life i have found economics and financials interesting and decided to use them lots in the future to come. Not only am I thinking of working for a businessman involved with share house and brokers, I believe this opportunity to study what truly creates an economy in the beginning is truly important for a heads up for what is to come. I am interested in the difference in life and how the people in Xizhou have different perspectives on the quantity and the way we use money. In the future I hope that may be a banker or a investor and here is my chance to learn from small things to what my future holds.

In the process of completing my project I found various sources in Xizhou, but as well online. Here are all 16 of them: 1 (Mr. Tafel), 2 (Xiao Tang), 3 (Mr. Yang Golden Flower Restaurant), 4 (Ba Ba family next to antique store), 5 (Mr. Yang (94 year old ex-Lawyer), 6 (Mr. Jiang Ba Ba costumer), 7 (Mr. Jiao Ba Ba Trainee), 8 (http://www.china.org.cn/e-groups/shaoshu/shao-2-bai.htm), 9 (http://www.uni-ulm.de/fileadmin/website_uni_ulm/hsz/Materialien/SS12/Botskor_China-The_next_Superpower_/China_Companies_3.pdf), 10 (http://factsanddetails.com/china.php?itemid=355&catid=9, 11 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_economy), 12 (http://www.apathtolunch.com/2012/04/pizza-and-testaroli-and-baba.html), 13 (http://www.cityknown.com/Cities/Restaurant.aspx?BusinessID=3313), 14 (http://www.dalisanta.net/publish/english/show.php?itemid=2965), 15 (http://www.gokunming.com/en/blog/item/2406/getting_away_xizhou), 16 (http://sasmicrocampus.org/node/3382/inquiry-projects), 17 (Ms. Mai), 18 (Personal Observation)

When choosing these sources I had to be careful to find the right answers to my questions. For example, in these websites I tried to look for information that seemed around the same on all of them. This shows that the piece of information is probably valid data. On the other hand with my contacts in Xizhou it was much harder to find the correct answers due to opinions on information. I tried to find the people who were interested in what I was interested too which is the Ba Ba. I found customers, apprentices, older minds with history about the topic and information on the inside of the business thanks to the Du family which I worked with these past.

I tried to answer questions that would be able to be answered by most of my interviewees. This means that my questions were a little broad to some point, but I had specific questions to the Du family. Questions about personal life were only made for the Du family. Even though I did narrow down my sources and got lots from one source I believe I have enough back-up and background to say that my information makes sense and is reasonably correct.

I have determined the single statement which supports my entire project into a general thesis. This statement is, how I can create my own Xizhou Ba Ba restaurant and the specifics of keeping the business going. To do this it is essential to mention three greatly important strands to understand my topic which are, the materials and ingredients, the cost and revenue, and most important the over-all management of this business.

Moving into the end of the journey I take away is the greatness and the simplicity of the families around me and their helpfulness to finish my project. During the first week I thought of studying the whole economy of Xizhou, that did not turn out to be want I truly wanted. I change my topic three times, this is due to my opinions and mind set of actually being here in Xizhou. Through out the project there were some rough patches and one of the bigger ones was my language deficiency. I could not answer my questions without help of my peers and chaperones. Pulling them away from their time was hard for me, but in the end I believe that a balance was found.

One my third interview with the Du family I had a great "a-ha" moment. This scene was when I asked Mr. Du what his passion was for making Ba Ba. His answer was, "I don't like making Ba Ba. It takes a long time and is very tiring." I was shocked because I thought he and his wife enjoying making Ba Ba and that is why the business kept going, but I was wrong. They keep it going to do the advantages of the pay and the affect on their lives.

This project helped me in many ways. The main way helped me to understand my topic was by making me put pieces together and understanding the Ba BA business better. I put all my information into one and now I can refer back to it to re-understand what I have been doing for the past four weeks. My project helped  interact with the community by making me put myself out their when I needed help and asking questions to locals, which is usually outside my comfort zone when it comes to speaking Chinese. This project help e to understand myself better too. Now I know that I can be shy and nervous when speaking Chinese and pushing myself into the community, but I know that I can do it. Knowing this skill I feel more confident outside in the real world called outside the bubble.

If I could go back to the begging of the project some good advice would have been to choose something and move on with it quickly. This means to make-up my mind thoughtfully, but relatively quickly to make my project more effective and stronger when it came to the end. One of my far reach ideas was to compare a Ba Ba place here to an imaginary one in Shanghai. Something a little less challenging would be to compare various Xizhou Ba Ba places to each other to find out their stories and why they do what they do.

In conclusion, I would like to thank the following people to help me finish my project as best as I could; Xiao Tang for helping start my relationship with the Du family, Mr. Tafel for supporting me and helping find my final ideas for my inquiry project, Ms. Mai for helping to find the correct questions and support to ask the Du family, Natalie and Ivy for coming with me to translate my questions for the Du family, My peers here in YZR for supporting me throughout to finish my project and helping me when I asked questions, and finally I thank the Du family for cooperating with me these past few weeks.
