Day 6: Thankful For

Thanksgiving! Although today is another ordinary work day, the highlight was the theme of thanksgiving today. After the normal morning work and some fabulous food and shopping, I had a chance to connect with some more silver smiths in town. I took a closer look at how Mr. Zhao worked with gold and created a really beautiful and fascinating piece of decoration for traditional Bai clothing.

Since it's thanksgiving today, I took time to think about things that I'm thankful for. I am thankful for Mr. T and Ms. Mai, for bringing us here to Xizhou for such an amazing opportunity. I am thankful for the staffs and helpers here, for making the Microcampus adventure feasible. I am thankful for my friends (wait I don't have any) and teachers back in Shanghai and SAS, for giving me support and motivation to move forward. I am thankful for my family, for always being there for me and taking care of me. In addition, most importantly, I am thankful for THE FOOD AND THE SKY HERE IN XIZHOU! We ate dinner for thanksgiving and the starry sky is so very very beautiful. The opportunity to be here in Xizhou has brought so much to me. I am really thankful for Microcampus.

My name is Stella R. I am an 8th grader at Shanghai American School Pudong campus who already returned from Xizhou as a member of the Revival group. The 27 days Microcampus adventure was truly one of the most fascinating experiences I have ever had. I will not forget about the beautiful environment with the clean air, green lands, and blue sky, the welcoming village full of cultural and historical values, and the challenging opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself in many aspects. This may be the end of the 4 weeks long journey, but it is the start of something brand new.
