Day 3: Peaceful Birthday

Today is my birthday! The whole microcampus group helped us celebrate Christina, Matt and my birthday with an amazing chocolate cake yesterday. Thank you everyone for that! Today was also very special because of one other reason. We spent the morning following the normal schedule: we caught up on Inquiry and started on WIPPIT time. Today, Gayatri, Christina and I biked out of our comfort bubble. We went out of Si Fang Jie and biked to another direction after we reached the laundry place.

The reason I've mentioned this day was because of Terrace Time today. The whole Dynamite Crew walked to the Linden Centre and for 15 minutes, we watched the view outside. I have noticed so many things that I wouldn't have on a daily basis and the things that I would've naturally just skimmed across. I've noticed the white blobs that appeared as houses on the mountains, and the birds that flew over the rooftops. The ricefields were so beautiful, it looked so fluffy that we could jump into the fields and bounce up again like we were on our comfy bunk beds. The view/ scenery was absolutely gorgeous even though the sky was covered with clouds. The ancient rooftops fit so well with the ricefields and the 15 minutes flew away. It was the best birthday gift ever!

Hello! I'm a 14 year old eighth grader. I'm from Korea, and it is my 7th year in Shanghai. I was very excited to be a part of the September-October Microcampus trip. XiZhou is a peaceful, bright, and unique town with friendly locals and wonderful scenery, not to mention the night skies, stars and fresh air. This town offered me self-confidence, and let me try something different for a month. I wish luck (and lots of fun) to the next group who will be part of this remarkable journey!
