Day 3: First 3-5

Today was the final day where our teachers had to clarify how our schedule works and how meetings will work, meaning that tomorrow is the first day where we will be having a normal Microcampus day, which makes me excited but also worried in some ways. We had our first bike ride today and it was extremely fun. I felt like I was a part of a group and because we had to call out to get behind or in front of each other. We would also call out cars, obstacles or people on the streets in order to inform each other and in the end, I felt like I was working with my teammates to make sure they were safe. After that, we started to set up our CrossFit gear. While we were putting on our Crossfit gear I put the CrossFit belt on my head and somehow, a pulse came out, I am going to have to check the doctor on that one. We started to do our 3-5s after that and although I only got to speak with one Microcampus adult, I went out and actually spoke to a tea owner, and after that experience, I feel like it was not as hard as I think to communicate with villagers. The dinner was great for me and my teammates shared our experience in China and also made connections with the restaurant owner. On the way back we spoke with an elderly man who was delighted that we said hi to him, and although I couldn't understand much of what he said due to his accent, I think that he knew we were visitors and wanted to tell us about how great and beautiful Xizhou is. I felt like that man was really nice and it really lifts my spirit up in Xizhou. Today was very fun and I felt like I am more comfortable in Xizhou now.

My name is Sunny, and I was a part of the Voyagers group in microcampus.I'm a gamer, artist, and love building stuff! I chose to join the Microcampus program because I want to become more independent and learn the lesser known cultures of China. The trip was amazing and I hope to come to Xizhou again.
