Day 28: Why I Came To Microcampus

Before arriving at this wonderful place called Xizhou, I had a lot of things in mind. The first thing I was not expecting is all the responsibilities and everything you have to manage. I did not know how much trust there would need to be in order to do things that we could have done. During these 28-days I have learned and grown so much, all these things I will take away will be irreplaceable and will be things that I can not do in any other place.

At first, I applied to Microcampus for 4 big reasons; awareness of impact, experiential learning, personal growth and expanding intercultural understanding. I have not only been able to discover these 4 aspects of life, but also taken so many values that people can learn from. All these mistakes I made, have been something I learned from so that in the future I would know what to do in the same situation. I also learned how to get out of my comfort zone, be with people I usually do not interact with, interact with people from the village, and face some challenges along the way.

Microcampus was designed so that a group of 8th Graders could go out in a village, explore and learn for 28 days. We had so many chances where we learned from, so many problems that we solved on our own. We were let out to be independent, choose our own paths to solve problems and many other things to learn from. I would like to thank the teachers for making this trip possible, and also I would like to thank Xizhou for letting me discover a new place that I was able to call for 28 days I was outside my bubble. This was a great experience and being part of the 2017 Ultimate Microcampus Program was a great experience to learn from and there were so many things to take away from this trip...

Hello everyone, my name is Nina A. I am proud to say that I was part of the 2017 Ultimate Pudong Microcampus trip. There are so many things that we have taken away from this amazing 28-day experience. Something that our 'U' group and every other Microcampus group is definitely missing is the blue skies and the white and puffy clouds.
