Day 28: Why Did I Come to Microcampus?

I came to Microcampus to learn. To have a great experience and a once in a lifetime opportunity. I wanted a real experience in China. I have lived seven years inside the bubble and I wanted to get out of it. Whenever my family went on trips of China we always had some kind of tourist thing that we went to. Finally we went on a trip to Yunnan, we went to Lijiang and Dali. While we were at Dali my mom found the Linden Centre on Trip Advisor. My dad was talking about some guy named Craig Tafel and some eighth grade kids who were staying there. This was one of the only times that my vacation around China actually felt like China. As soon as we got back to Shanghai I searched up Microcampus and learned all about. I wanted to go. At the time I thought it would be a great experience and an opportunity that I did not want to miss. Now I realize that this is probably one of the most real tastes of China I will get. This journey I took will be with me forever and although I might not remember some things about living in China when I am 60 years old I will remember this trip and the wonderful, fantastic and amazing place.

My name's Aneka and I'm 14 years old. I was born in Mumbai, India and have lived in Mexico, Shanghai and now North Carolina. I was at SAS for eight years before moving to the U.S at the end of my eighth grade year. I love XiZhou and miss it so much! I hope I can go back there again some day and visit all my favorite places and eat all my favorite foods(Yum!) I am so grateful for this wonderful experience and I hope that everyone who goes gets as much if not more out of it then I did.
