Day 1: The Journey To Xizhou

Today was the beginning of a new adventure that I will be experiencing for the next 28 days. Before the journey could even begin, I had to say goodbye to friends and family that I will not see for the next month. At the airport, I met up with the 15 other Microcampus students, and we were off to Xizhou! Just before we boarded I realized that this was actually happening, that there is no going back now. After we landed in Xizhou, we had a one hour bus ride to Yang Zhouran (where we are staying). On the bus ride I looked out at the mountains and the few puffy clouds that scattered the blue sky, and I was listening to Mr. T talk about how the weather was really bad, and that it was only a three out of ten, when in Shanghai a day like today would be a nine or ten out of ten. Later tonight we went up to the terrace, and we looked up at thousands of stars in the sky that have never been visible in Shanghai.

Hi! My name is Sarah, I am 13 years old. This is my 10th year at SAS Puxi. I love playing sports, being outside, hanging out with friends, and reading. I am now in Xizhou and so far it is amazing; everyone is very friendly and very welcoming.
